With SAP S/4 HANA ‘everything changes’ in some areas but they almost ‘stay the same’ in others.  Why is that? The answer lies in the strategic direction of SAP and software in general where terms like cloud, best of breed, best practice, Internet of things, user experience, virtual data are now mainstream.

This masterclass will discuss the choices to upgrade the finance function including using Central Finance and some of the new functionality in SAP S/4 HANA Finance/Central Finance. The format will be interactive with ‘quick fire’ Q&A.

Change has become part of our lives. Change cannot be avoided, nor is it unstoppable. One of the critical challenges in today’s workforce is catering to the needs of different generations. Our workforce will continue to see a shift within the talent pool, with employees reaching the end of their careers and new generations entering the workforce.

Studies show that the new wave of talent expected to enter the workforce in the next ten years will bring new ideas and be trained with the latest technology. What is your business doing to attract and retain the best talent? Having a successful change management strategy must align all generations and technology.

This masterclass will unpack the need for a change management strategy that doesn’t disrupt the business process and emplores people to take ownership of the changes happening in their role.

Presented by Thomas Jung, Head of Developer Advocacy, SAP Developer & Community Relations, SAP (USA)

The decision to move payroll to the cloud is not an easy one for most organisations. Most businesses that are looking at implementing SuccessFactors are keeping their payroll instance out of fear of failure. We are going to look at several areas within the Payroll process where organisations can be better informed and reduce anxiety during their decision-making process when migrating to SAP Cloud Payroll. We’ll focus on the areas that are typically the most concerning and see how the risks are mitigated, such as:

  • Implementation journey – is it that different or have we overhyped the implementation?
  • Data security concerns and how to overcome them
  • Failure risks within payroll processing
  • Benefits of a cloud environment
  • Presented by David Axson - Independent

Every day, in every company and organization around the world, leaders are making mission-critical decisions on how they will execute their business strategy.

Leaders at non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, Fortune 100 companies and Main Street small businesses all know that everyday is an opportunity to make progress or to lose momentum.

It is the choices they make on what to do and what not to do, and how work will get done that will move them and their organizations forward or move them backwards.

And as a result, the pressure is on to make the right decision every single time.

The Ambition Method™ is anchored in behavioral science and decades of observation on organizational performance, and aims to answer this singular question that every leader has asked:

The Ambition Method™ lays out the approach that leaders and their teams can follow to create the results that they desire, to have a positive impact on their organizations, and to build the legacy that all leaders can be proud of.

Are you fatigued by repeatedly hearing `pandemic’, `COVID-19’, `the new normal’, `remote working’? We can all acknowledge that recent times have brought about change, but where something is done is less important to how it is done and when it is done in finance, and more importantly, the ease of doing it combined with the accurateness and completeness of it. Finance have navigated the choppy waters of recent times and haven’t drowned, but if you want to be successful and embrace digital transformation, you can’t just end at the border of an ERP/SAP System. Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% taking notes, so in this session we will explore:

  • Why playing with custom automation will marginally move the needle towards success and why for many businesses it has not delivered the benefits that were promised, has left businesses with fragmented technology and disconnected data, but there is a better way
  • Why streamlining process that include automation and native integration change how we work and why where you work is only a distraction and shouldn’t be the focus
  • Why capacity issues aren’t just holding you back from better operational efficiency, it’s related to many hidden costs and risks
  • Why using modern accounting can make you the employer of choice and why the future of finance isn’t just digital technology
  • Presented by Chris Atkins - Vice President – Digital Government Transformation, SAP (US)

In the current age of digital transformation, people expect more from public sector organisations. Corporate giants like Amazon provide a personalized, incredibly fast, and convenient experience to customers that raise expectations for what engaging with an organisation should be like. This level of service delivery can be hard to match for many public sector organisations that may lack the necessary data analysis tools and skills to understand citizen behavior and sentiment, to provide an enhanced citizen experience.

However, public sector organisations are making the shift towards a data driven strategy. The shock of the pandemic has forced governments to rapidly accelerate their plans for agile, technology focused strategies. But how can public sector organisations support a proactive strategy with technology, what obstacles do they need to overcome?

Chris Atkins serves as VP for Digital Government Transformation in the SAP Public Sector Industry Business Unit (IBU). Join this interactive session to explore the DDG Framework, including a look at some local and global case studies.

  • Benefits of implementing a data and analytics strategy
  • Potential obstacles to digital transformation
  • Creating a data and analytics strategy

  • Chris brings nearly fifteen years of public sector industry expertise to SAP. Before joining SAP, he served as Director of the Indiana Office of Management and Budget, CFO for the State of Indiana, and Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Revenue.

Presented by David Guazzarotto, Managing Director of APAC for Leapgen

As we continue to emerge from the disruption of 2020, we know that businesses have changed; work has changed; and, workers themselves have changed. The human side of work has become more important than ever in these fragile times and changing workplace dynamics mean that business agility is imperative in 2021 and beyond.

The pandemic necessitated an abrupt transition to distributed work models with many people thrust into a remote work environment for the first time often lacking the resources they would need to remain productive and struggling to adapt to a forced convergence of work and life. Compelled to react to these dramatic shifts, businesses have dispensed with the strategies and plans that they mapped in 2019 and have, through necessity, become more agile and adaptive in order to thrive in an emerging new normal. The accelerated digitization of work shifts the goalposts and opens up tremendous competitive advantage for those who approach it with optimism and are adaptive to a constantly changing world.

There has never been a more important time for HR leaders to step up to the challenge of navigating their organizations to the future of work - which has become the “Now of Work” overnight. How you approach these challenges will determine the course of your business and its people long into the future. It’s up to us, HR, to set an agenda and lead the reset toward building a more resilient and adaptable HR function.

Learn how organisations who adopt Adaptable HR functions are emerging stronger across several parameters. This session will focus on 3 key attributes to support and empower adaptable and agile HR in your organization.

  • Governance - moving from a “project” to “program” mindset to ensure your current and future cloud HCM technology investments evolve to deliver a more adaptable framework for continuous improvement
  • Experience - in the Digital Age, Employee Experience matters more than ever - instead of implementing technology, we show you how to deploy human capabilities by understanding how people data allows you to personalize and consumerize workforce experiences allowing you to humanize technology to deliver adaptable HR.
  • Design - The key to delivering transformation that sticks is to design workforce experiences that inspire and fuel change. Processes generate data, journeys create feelings. The only way to personalize experience is by knowing your people. We will show you how to consider a whole-person approach to designing and optimising solutions for your people.

This master class will provide insights into the important aspects an Identity centric security model approach, share current industry trends and good practice applications of tools and activities that can help put Identity at the centre of your information security strategy. The class will deep dive into how this approach can be applied to manage governance, risk, and compliance in an increasingly complex SAP environment by allowing you to simplify your SAP role model and fully automate access governance and administration processes.

This masterclass will cover the following areas:

    1. Putting identity at the centre of your security for cloud applications

Protecting high value digital assets of an organisation has moved from perimeter based security to a Identity centric security model. Reducing risk of unauthorised access and improving productivity of an increasingly remote workforce is more critical in a world that is transforming into a zero trust model, with Identity Security at the core to ensure the right people have the right access at the right time.

    2. Cloud access risk management for SAP applications

We will deep dive into how new technology can be applied to manage governance, risk and compliance in an increasingly complex SAP environment. This can be used to assist in the simplification and migration of a legacy role model to one that reduces risk and lends itself to further automation and consolidation of access governance and administration.

    3. Case study: reducing access risk in preparation for S/4 HANA migration

We will show a leading Australian organisation reduced their access risks by 98% and elevated their SAP governance to the next level of maturity to meet their internal compliance and audit requirements. Learn how this strategic foundational initiative can prepare you for future access automation and enable an easier transition to SAP S/4HANA.

There are two parts to the masterclass: 1) Planning Your Business Transformation and Move to S4/HANA, and 2) How to Master Your Data, Not the Other Way Around.

Rarely will a data migration take place in a vacuum. There are reasons why it needs to be done. Sometimes these are purely technical but mostly, there are business drivers. The shift to SAP S/4HANA is a perfect example. Delivering trusted data is paramount and when planned and executed successfully, you will be able to orchestrate, track, validate, and report on end-to-end project activities easily.

Processes that action master and application data can take an unnecessarily long time to complete when manually orchestrated by humans or paper — delaying the availability of the most up-to-date data. The quality of this data is usually poor because humans often make inadvertent mistakes during data entry. And because it is maintained across many disparate and disconnected business systems, it is difficult to tap into this data through analytics, machine learning, and report generation technologies.

    This masterclass explores:

  • How businesses can orchestrate processes that enforce the entry of the highest quality master and application data
  • Ensuring the right people correctly actioning the right master and application data at the right time
  • Creating a single point of reference to master and application data from multiple domains and business systems
  • Using AI and machine learning to automatically capture your continuous learning
  • Presented by Chris Rae & Jorg Thuijls, DalRae Solutions
